He is the reason why I am History teacher today. I find myself passing on his sage advice to my students on a regular basis; he was simply a great man.

- Hera J., Manchester, CT

My deepest thought and condelences are with your family during this very difficult time. He was a great teacher and taught me so much about History and life. My brothers Pat and Chris and I all had him in high school, and I know he very much liked to hear about my brother Pat by the time I had him as a teacher, they got along a very well. I'm sorry so for your loss, but I know he's looking down taking care of all of you.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Pennell's passing. He was a great teacher for our class back in the 70s and 80s and then I was lucky enough to become a co-worker of his recently. He will be remembered and missed by many. May happy memories make the days ahead easier to bear.

- Susan Blazawski Mazur, S Windsor, CT

My thoughts and prayers to Mr. Pennell's family and friends at this difficult time. I have such fond memories of high school due largely to having such a wonderful, caring and funny teacher. Thank God Mr. Pennell went into the teaching profession. Our world was made a better place for it.

Kate & Whitney, I am was very sad to hear of Bob's passing. He was a truly great guy. So good & kind to everyone. He always made me feel welcomed and I will always remember him as one of the better souls to touch my life. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can do anything to help out during this difficult time. Love, Mary

Goodbye to my favorite Red Sox fan ever, my uncle Bob. I will really miss him. I remember talking to him and laughing with him just two months ago, on Christmas. He ways always there for me, even through the toughest of times. I know he is talking Baseball with my grandfather, my other uncle Bob, his mother Clare, his father, my other grandfather, my teachers Mr. Held and Mr. Wicz and my friends Anthony Repuano, Nick LaPenta, Marylin Richardson, Dan Fox, and Peter DeCaprio. R.I.P. uncle Bob. I will really miss you.
